Multani Mal Modi College organizes online calligraphy competition

Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organized online calligraphy competition to mark the 400th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji on the topic ‘Teachings and Writings of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji’ in collaboration with National Service Scheme (NSS), National Cadet Corps (NCC) and Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG) units of the college. This competition was dedicated to the sacred text of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib. College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar said that the objective of this competition is to bring awareness about sacrifice and teachings of Guru Ji. He motivated the participating students to learn the language with all its meaning and context and to use the words in a concise and beautiful way during writing. This competition was conducted under the aegis of DPI (Colleges) Punjab in which 212 students from different educational institutes participated.
Dr. Rajeev Sharma, NSS (PO) and organizing secretary of the competition said that new generation can incorporate discipline in its life by learning the teachings of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. He said that the martyrdom and sacrifice made by Shri Guru Teg Bahadur is an extraordinary example of bravery which will keep on inspiring us always to ages. In the college students category first prize was won by Japneet Kaur of Govt. College for Girls, Patiala, Shubhkarmanpreet Kaur student of Punjab Group of Colleges, Chunni Kalan and Jasneet Kaur of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala bagged the second position. Third prize was won by Gurnoor Kaur Sidhu of Govt. (State) College of Education, Patiala and Amanpreet Kaur from IIHS Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. The consolation prize was bagged by Arshmeet Kaur of All Saints Institute of Science and Research, Ludhiana.
In the School category B. S. Elixir from DAV Public School, Jagraon stood first, Harmanpreet Kaur from Pt. Mohan Lal, S. D. College for Women, Gurdaspur stood second and Avneet Kaur from Delhi Public School, Amritsar bagged the third position.
For this competition Prof. Jagdeep Kaur, Dr. Hamohan Sharma, Dr. Rohit Sachdeva, Dr. Veenu Jain and Dr. Rupinder Singh performed the judgment duties. The technical support given by Dr. Rohit Sachdeva made this online competition a grand success.
